  1. Utter nonsense.

To be sure, slavery was a brutal and dehumanizing institution seen by today’s laws and morality but was a perfectly legal and moral form of labour extraction for much of the Antiguan slavery era from the early 17th century to 1838.

Indeed, Harvard, like many other American institutions of higher learning, receiving grants and endowments from thousands of benefactors who acquired their fortunes from slavery and other sources that are not considered beyond the pale.

Using Sir Ronald’s specious reasons, all this “dirty money” needs to be repatriated hundreds of years later. Rubbish.

Harvard University as an independent institution enslaved not a single ancestor of Antiguan’s current citizens and has no moral and less legal obligation to accede to the greedy requests of the current Gaston Browne regime whose extortionist efforts are not supported by the majority of the Antiguan people.

  2. May I say that you Sir, are the product of East Indian immigrants brought into the Caribbean and Americas to spite the newly released slaves from 1838. The planters did not want to employ ex-slaves so brought the East Indians in which caused further hardship to the ex slave communities. So considering your background would you personally like to pay reparations and apologise to the Afro-Caribbean’s and Afro-Guianese? Lets stop this game of pretend.
