1 thought on “Saint Lucia’s Banana Industry near collapse”

  1. With worldwide famine just around the corner, the people must brace themselves for full impact. Not just famine, but more plagues are about to hit the world scenes in the near future. As I mentioned before, COVID – 19 was just a dress rehearsal compared to what is to come. However, I don’t think that we should focus only on bananas, but we should return to the coconut industry as well as coconut oil is, if not the best natural there is, and has been from times.

The cocoa and coffee industries are other avenues that we should take a second look at as well. With South America being the world’s biggest producers, the ministry of agriculture should import some tender coffee and cocoa plants to the island and distribute it to the farmers islandwide. We need to be pragmatic and not just talk, talk, talk, year after year.

We need a working government that is concerned and willing to help our farmers and people of the land – because tourism is kaput.

    Let’s make it happen.
